I named that Mountain Maple in a raft style “Hallucigenia”. This strange name refers to a worm living in the Cambrian seas 500 millions years ago that had multiple legs and spines. Collected in spring 2022, I carve the main trunk to start its healing and wire out the main leaders from this mess.
I carve down to living tissues. This maple is definitely red in all of its flesh.
