I did not know what to do with those 20 Ginkgo biloba seedlings, so I decided to create two prehistoric forests.
The buds are about to open. The timing is ideal to repot.
I remove the soil and trim the roots to establish a flat root base.
Here is a first forest containing 14 trees.
Here is a second forest containing 5 trees.
Time travel into the Mesozoic
Ginkgo bilobas appeared 270 million years ago during an era called the permian, 40 million years before the dinosaurs first walked on Earth (to know more, click here). I got transported into the Mesozoic while playing with my son’s miniatures.
A triceratops mother is looking over its baby while it is eating some sprouts.
A parasaurolophus is on the look-out since predators are hiding in the bushes.
A dunkleostus attacks a thirsty baby triceratops that adventured too close to the water.
Click here to watch an animaion of the dunkleostus bringing its pray deep in the see.
